Snake & Monkey

A wood Musozutsu, carved with a Monkey steadying his balance on a thin branch while he reaches to grasp another branch. The Monkey displays a panicked expression. The reason for alarm, a Serpent has made his presence known coiling in and out of a crevice in the tree. The details beautifully rendered and the Snake carved from persimmon and mother of pearl and inlaid into the top case. A gold coloured metal enforces the meeting point between the two cases.
